Artist Rick Martin’s Work to be featured at The Met

The Met at Boulevard One is now featuring art created by local Denver artist Rick Martin in our 3-acres of open space.   Martin is a self-taught welder that has been creating metal sculptures since 1991.   With the help of his wife, Sallie, they have turned this passion into a thriving business.  Martin Design Works creates a wide variety of art pieces ranging from wall art, clocks, candle holders, coat racks, and freestanding art.  The art is mainly created with metal with the addition of stainless steel and wood on certain pieces.

Martin’s inspiration comes from mid-century modern furniture and architecture, but he adds his own twist to each piece with the use of bright and vivid colors.  Each piece is individually made, and no two pieces are ever exactly the same.  In his own words, Martin describes his creation process as follows: “I want my art to be pleasing and not a challenge to understand.  I like clean lines which are infused with richly hued geometric shapes.”  Martin’s art has found its home in various landscapes across the United States.  You can find him at various art shows and exhibitions across the country as well.

The Met at Boulevard One welcomes Rick Martin’s art to our growing collection of interior and exterior art within our community.  We know these sculptures will be among the resident’s favorite pieces.
